Positive pole of coil (pin 85):
Function: This pin is intended to receive a positive voltage from an external control signal. When voltage is applied to the circuit, it will energize the coils inside the relay.
Importance: The positive pole of the coil (pin 85) is the key pin for starting the relay action, mainly controlling the on/off state of the relay by controlling its voltage through the pin.
Negative pole of coil (pin 86):
Function: The 86 pin is coordinated with the 85 pin, forming a current loop between the positive and negative stages of the coil. The current flow in the coil must rely on both of them.
Function: Cooperate with the positive electrode to generate sufficient magnetic field in the coil, thereby driving the switching of relay contacts.
Contact pins
Common terminal (30 pins):
Function: As a common connection point between normally open and normally closed contacts, its connection state depends on the action state of the relay.
Working principle: When the relay is not activated (i.e. the coil is not energized), the common terminal is connected to the normally closed contact; When the relay is activated (coil energized), the common terminal is connected to the normally open contact.
Normally open contact (87 pin):
Function: When the relay coil is not powered, this contact remains disconnected from the common terminal; Once the coil is energized, it will close with the common terminal, allowing current to pass through.
Application: Commonly used in automatic control circuits to turn on load circuits under specific conditions (such as receiving control signals).
Normally closed contact (pin 87a):
Function: Unlike normally open contacts, when the relay coil is not powered, normally closed contacts remain closed with the common terminal; After the coil is powered on, it will disconnect from the common terminal.
Application: In some circuits that require conduction by default but need to be disconnected in specific situations, normally closed contacts play a crucial role. For example, safety circuits, fault alarm circuits, etc.
